As a hitting trainer at Driveline Baseball Im tasked with assessing athletes, communicating their training needs, crafting and facilitating programs to address those needs. While training athletes I use a variety of technologies including, TRAQ, Hittrax, Blast Motion, K Motion, Motion Capture, Edgertronic Cameras, and more. Im also tasked with developing and implementing a position player throwing program that utilized Pulse to manage the workloads of our athletes. When plans for an internship fell apart due to the Covid pandemic, I began to train hitters for Driveline remotely, working with up to 20 hitters at a time. With the use of Blast Motion and video assessment, I built individual programs for athletes through TRAQ adapting to whatever types of equipment the individual athlete had. In August 2018 I was hired to organize and operate the Development Center for Lamar Community College, a redshirt program that focused on player development, in its first year. Ten weeks into the first year we saw an average increase of 3.5mph in exit velocity. Working with TRAQ, Rapsodo, Blast Motion, and Google sheets I was able to evaluate data gathered during our practice time, organize it, and adjust the programming for our athletes accordingly. While running the Development Center, I also coached the outfielders and helped run the offense. After finishing my playing career, I quickly transitioned into coaching tasked with restructuring our offense philosophies, coaching first base, and coaching outfielders at University of Dallas. We saw a 38 point increase in our team batting average and on-base percentage. I also became heavily involved in the recruiting process, going to showcases, contacting recruits, and setting up recruiting visits.
