A Purposeful Warm Up
A purposeful warm up is coming that is entirely up to the person. In a hitter’s case this would be stretches, tee work, ploys etc. When looking to build a purposeful warm up it is entirely dependent on who that hitter is. Identify what type of hitter a hitter is will be very important for them to grow. Being able to identify drills, stretches, and anything else that allows the hitter to feel their best self. For players who struggle waiting on pitches, doing drills that speed up your stride hurt you. Players who lose body posture in their swing need to stay away from high tee & long bats to force them to over exaggerate the movement they lacking at the moment. The sooner a player can tell if something is off in their swing during their warmups the sooner a player is really feeling their swing and understanding their process. When this is the case a player can do extra drills for that portion of the body that is not on the same page. One the warm up is complete the hitter will feel comfortable and confident going into their game/rounds.
