How I Would: Take Over a Highschool Baseball/Softball Program

Structure summer teams 14u incoming freshmen 16u JV. Possible Varsity players go travel.

Summer/Fall ball if you are good enough to get recruited go play, go travel on a team. If you are a “money feeder” to an org and not the speed, strength, ability, IQ to get recruited then stay at the HS. For those who stay at the Highschool in the summer we will have a 17/16u team who will play in state on the weekends and train during the week. Lifting, hitting, individual defense, base running, team defense will be the focus. We would also have a 15/14u team that would be generally our incoming freshmen/past freshmen. This would have the same structure as the 17/16u team for player development. Fall ball, all players would be expected to train during the week with the program. If you are a player who has ability to get recruited then go play somewhere Friday-Sunday. If one of our practices and their practice over laps then go with them, you’re paying them. If you are not good enough to get recruited then we will scrimmage other HS’s in the area on the weekends.

Recruitable players are

Any senior

Any player who was on Varsity prior spring

Anyone who can: pitcher sitting 82+pmh with 1+ more pitches, hitter who can hit 88+ exit Velo repitidly, runner who is sub 7.0 (60 yrd), any outfield arm 86+mph, any infield arm 82+

Jv GET BIG GET STRONG GET FAST

C team is fine tune basic IQ, get big get strong get fast

Freshmen create basic IQ

Require strength conditioning as a class, monitor weight and lifts. Create a leaderboard for program with top 10 in program for each lift. Have a board with everyone’s max so those who are not on it can see how close/far way they are. Create point game where if you jump players you earn stuff, if you get passed you have punishment.
